First-ever Paladins Console Wars highlights a jam-packed Hi-Rez lineup at DreamhackValencia 2017

March 14, 2017 – Alpharetta, GA – Hi-Rez Studios announced today a full lineup of SMITE, Paladins and SMITE Tactics esports events, featuring over 24 teams from around the globe, to be held at Dreamhack Valencia on July 13-15. The multi-day gaming festival in Valencia, Spain, marks the Studio’s largest-ever esports event in Europe.

Highlighting the announcement is the first-ever Paladins Console Wars. The $50,000 tournament creates esports history by squaring off the top Xbox One and PS4 teams from both Europe and North America to crown the top Paladins team across console platforms. The announcement comes on the same day that Paladins enters closed beta on both PS4 and Xbox One. For more information on how to join the Paladins Closed Beta on PS4 or Xbox One, visit

“While Paladins is new on console, we thought it was important to reward our early competitive players with a unique and fun event,’ said Todd Harris, Hi-Rez Studio Chief Operating Officer. “As far as we know, no major multiplayer shooter has ever had their best players from both PS4 and Xbox One play one another in this type of venue. We can finally settle the Blue vs Green debate once and for all.”

Also highlighting Hi-Rez’s Dreamhack Valencia 2017 line-up will be major tournaments for SMITE PC, Smite Console, Paladins PC and SMITE Tactics.

The SMITE Pro League Summer Finals features the top eight teams from the North American and European SMITE PC Pro Leagues, along with teams from other select international leagues to be announced soon.

The SMITE Console League Summer Finals features three teams from the North American Smite Console League competing against Europe’s top SCL competitor. The event marks the first cross-region international LAN to be held on European soil in Smite Console League history.

The Paladins Summer Premier brings the top eight PC Paladins teams from around the world to Spain, including representatives from the Americas, Europe, and other select international regions to be announced soon.

Also at Dreamhack Valencia, Hi-Rez Studios will hold its first-ever open LAN tournament for SMITE Tactics, the Studio’s turn-based, one-vs-one strategy game set in the same mythological universe as the hit MOBA, SMITE. A qualifier series will run in both the North American and European regions, with the top player from each qualifying for the number 1 and 2 seeds in the SMITE Tactics LAN.
